Sunday Kids programming is provided during our services for kids from 0 to grade 6.
Events & Activities
Experiences outside of Sunday mornings, focusing on growing together and serving others.
All over the world, God is building His Kingdom through children and through child-like faith. At WMB, we seek to embrace children with the intent of becoming like them in faith, and to disciple them as they follow Jesus.
We are committed to partnering with parents to teach children about God and how deeply He loves them. Our Kids Ministry program makes Bible learning fun by using a variety of active experiences in a safe and caring environment, where children experience the love of God in relevant and age-appropriate ways. Kids Ministry is offered during both Sunday services.
Our hope is that Sunday mornings at WMB are a significant experience for every member of your family. The same scripture is used for all kid’s age levels, helping families apply the Bible to their lives throughout every week through take-home Family Connect conversation starters.
Kids Ministry staff and volunteers have completed a screening process and training to make sure your child is well cared for. Children are securely signed in when they arrive on Sunday mornings. At sign in, the child will receive a name tag and the parent will receive a security tag. These tags have matching codes which will be used when releasing your child. Our Kids space is a nut free zone, so that all children may be included in the programs we offer.
Our nursery provides a safe, loving, and fun environment where 0-2 year olds are cared for while you participate in the worship service, or serve elsewhere, on Sunday mornings. Since nursery needs vary widely, we have three separate rooms for infants, toddlers and walkers.
The nursery facilities are open and equipped with caring volunteers during all Sunday services.
The Sunday morning Preschool program nurtures 3 year olds toward becoming followers of Jesus: people who know and love God, interpret God’s word, belong to God’s gathered community, and share God’s good news. Together, preschool children play, sing, and create as they learn of God’s goodness.
JK & SK
Kindergarten children dive into the Bible as they participate in interactive storytelling and worship and gather into small groups for activities and crafts. Children will learn about the God of the Bible alongside the big kids, in ways that speak directly to their curiosity and inquisitive nature.
We desire to see elementary kids develop a passion for God, His story and His ways. Our diverse group of kids at WMB will be engaged in ways that click with their learning style – learning, creating, exploring and experimenting. Our Sunday mornings include a large group session of fun and active worship and grade level small groups, where kids have time to explore, ask big questions, and respond to the call to follow Jesus. In this way, they have the opportunity to make friends at the same age and stage along their faith journey.
Kids who are in grade five and six, or Fifty Sixers as we like to call them, are at a unique time in their lives. Often the oldest in their schools, they are reaching the end of childhood but are not yet seen as youth. They are in the years of transition that can be scary, awkward and exciting. With this in mind, we have designed a program specifically for these kids!
Fifty Sixers are invited not only to engage in worship, prayer and scripture together on Sunday mornings, but also to lead and mentor our younger kids. As the oldest in their families within Kids Ministry, Fifty Sixers are encouraged to share their learning and their faith with their younger siblings and parents as their faith takes shape.
Fifty Sixer experiences outside of Sunday mornings focus on growing together and serving others. Contact Christie Penner Worden for more information.
Activities & Events
Each week we provide take-home pages that include ideas for family discussions and activities that will help cement what your child learns on Sunday mornings. The Kids Ministry Director will follow up with a weekly email called “Family Connect” that will give you a conversation starter for meal time or bedtime (click here for an example). We hope that this will facilitate time to grow and pray together.
Ensure you register on Sunday mornings to receive these mid-week materials.
All over the world, God is building His Kingdom through children and through child-like faith. At WMB, we seek to embrace children with the intent of becoming like them in faith, and to disciple them as they follow Jesus. When parents dedicate their children, they are: Declaring their desire to raise their child to know and love Jesus; Recognizing that they can’t do it on their own and need God to empower them day by day to fulfill this responsibility; and inviting their community to be part of this discipling journey.
Child Dedications take place on a Sunday afternoon (3:30-5pm) in the Lower Auditorium. Participating families are encouraged to invite their community of family and friends to be a part of this celebration service. We celebrate together by hearing some of the hopes the parents have as they raise their children, praying with each family and their children, and making commitments to God and to one another. Light refreshments are served.
Upcoming Child Dedications
*Up to three families can be accommodated at each dedication.
FORM: To sign up for an upcoming dedication, please complete the following information: child’s full name, child’s birth date and parents’ names.

Wumba Kids Camp is an exciting full-day camp for kids entering Grades 1-6 in September. Through activities like outdoor games and splash days, crafts, music and baking, workshops and guest speakers, kids have the opportunity to explore all kinds of fun while building what we hope will be life-long friendships with peers and leaders alike. Each day, we tie in a faith component, facilitating Bible exploration and discussion about God and His great big love for us. Kids bring their own lunches (no nuts, please!), and we provide morning and afternoon snacks and a truckload of memories!
