You’re invited to Eat, Connect + Learn: six evenings of skill-building workshops for all ages plus dinner, hosted by WMB Church!
There’s something for everyone at Eat, Connect + Learn. Our workshops are designed for participants ages 3 to 99, and we provide free, safe and quality childcare for infants and toddlers ages 0 to 2 years old. Come with your family, on your own or with a friend – all are welcome! Youth ages 12 and older may attend unaccompanied by an adult.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
WORKSHOP REGISTRATION: Register for one 6-week workshop per person. Read about the workshops below and select the one that suits you best by clicking the “register” button below the workshop of your choice. Registration closes March 13. Some workshops fill up quickly, so don’t delay.
COST: Workshops are free! The optional weekly dinner is $3/person/week, paid at the door each week. Indicate whether or not you’ll join us for dinner with your workshop registration.
CHILDCARE: To take advantage of free childcare for kids ages 0-2, register each individually using the button below.

ART STUDIO: PAINT | Ages 14+
Learn from professional and international artist Monte Wright as he teaches painting. He will teach basic art techniques with Emily Carr, Lauren Harris or Georgia O’Keefe as his guide! Whether you are a newly budding artist or have been practising for years, this will be a fun time to get creative.
ESL CONVERSATION CIRCLES | Age 18+
An opportunity for those learning English to practise speaking conversational English in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Chat in small groups about everyday topics like food, staying healthy and celebrations.

BASICS OF CHRISTIANITY | Age 14+
Basics of Christianity is a welcoming space where your questions about God turn into conversations about faith. In this group, you can discuss your doubts and explore the trickiest topics of faith, free from pressure and judgment. If you’re new to faith, just checking it out, or coming back to church after some time away, this video series is a great first step.
LITTLE LEARNERS | Ages 3-5
Come discover what you can build by using your imagination! We’ll dig into blue bins to find plastic, paper, metal and cardboard to create masterpieces that you can take home and enjoy. Marshmallow sculptures, castles or a kazoo, the possibilities are endless for a creator like you!
PLANNING, CARING & LIVING WELL | Age 18+
Looking forward to retirement? Starting to care for your aging parents? Join us as we talk about retirement, care-giving needs and living a positive and healthy lifestyle. Topics will include normal aging versus age related diseases, financial planning, legal responsibilities, exercise, nutrition and navigating the health care system.
CROCKPOT COOKING | Age 18+
Learn healthy and inexpensive Canadian crockpot recipes as well as time saving tricks of the trade! We’ll supply the ingredients (and a crockpot if you need one).
