Roles and Responsibilities

Overview

Students who are entering Grades 8,9, 10, 11 are able to apply.

Students must attend Wumba Orientation: July 2-5 (Tues-Friday), 9am – 4pm

Participants are required to volunteer for at least 2 of the 7 weeks of Wumba Kids Camp. LITs are welcome to volunteer for as many weeks as possible.

Dates for 2024:

Week 1 (July 8-12)- Waterloo

Week 2 (July 15-19th)- Kitchener

Theme B:

Week 3 (July 22-26)- Kitchener

Theme C:

Week 4 (July 29-Aug 1)- Kitchener

Week 5 (Aug 12-16)- Waterloo

Theme D:

Week 6 (Aug 19-23)- Waterloo

Week 7 (August 26-30)- Waterloo

The Goal:

To disciple and build up young leaders at WMB Church who love Jesus, kids, and want to serve on mission this summer in Kitchener-Waterloo!

During Wumba Orientation, students will:

Gain an understanding of the leader that God wants them to be through prayer, studying the word of God, team building, serving others, helping prep for the camp, and participating in workshops. Students will orient their hearts toward the missional focus of Wumba Kids Camp.

During the weeks of camp, LIT participants will:

  • Meet each morning with Wumba team and volunteers to pray and prepare for the day.

  • Follow the WMB Keeping Safe Policies throughout the week.

  • Seek to develop positive relationships with the campers.

  • Set up and assist with program rotations, art and crafts, worship, and Bible Exploration.

  • Be a family group helper.

  • Assist with camp as needed.

  • Be mentored by team members.

  • Help clean up at the end of the camp day.
