The Christmas season offers special opportunities to embody the love and generosity of our incarnate God to people in our community. Check out current opportunities below.
Adopt-a-family
Through Barnabas Missions, WMB is deeply connected to folks who, without support, do not have the means to provide a Christmas meal and gifts for their family while keeping up with basic needs. Provide gifts, donate a turkey or help with delivery to make this Christmas special for these individuals and families.
Christmas Toy Drive
As we continue to partner with our neighbours who are experiencing material poverty, they have asked us to work with them to host a Christmas store. The goal is to provide about 150 new toys for ages 0-17 (up to $80) for parents to purchase at an affordable price. Donations will be accepted at both sites on Sunday mornings throughout the month of November.
Christmas Cards to WMB’s Missionaries
Write a card to one (or a few!) of WMB’s Global Partners or Missionaries to be sent along with a package from WMB for Christmas. Visit our Global Outreach page for a list of our partners and missionaries. Bring your greetings to the Welcome Desk on Sundays or the Church Office during the week. Cards are due on November 25.
Special Offering for Barnabas Missions
Barnabas Missions is WMB’s expression of local outreach. Your generous giving to our Barnabas fund empowers people in our community who are marginalized – those experiencing poverty, refugees and new Canadians – to move toward long-term, holistic well-being. Through this year’s special offering, we aim to raise $398,000 to fund our ministries that provide practical and relational support to hundreds of people in our community. We will have a special Barnabas offering service on November 17. To contribute to the Barnabas fund, click on the “Give” button below.
