WORLD 305 - Engaging Poverty: Seeking Shalom

  • WMB Church - Waterloo Site 245 Lexington Rd Waterloo Canada (map)

God’s command to care for the materially poor is clear in scripture. But what impact is God – and are we – hoping for? Are we satisfied with large numbers of food hampers distributed and toys donated?  Or do we hope for more for our neighbours?

Together, let’s dream of what full flourishing, or “shalom,” looks like for individuals and communities experiencing material poverty. Seeking Shalom is a 6-week course that will help us learn to work toward full flourishing as we engage in poverty alleviation. Video resources created by Christian community development organization Focused Community Strategies will guide our learning.
