Seeking Shalom, or flourishing, by seeking to see glimpses of God’s Kingdom here on earth is at the heart of the gospel. And its important that it’s the lens through which we engage with those experiencing material poverty. Seeking shalom is more than giving out free material resources. It’s about seeking out the flourishing of each person through empowerment, relationships and the protection of dignity.
Seeking Shalom is a 6-week course that will help us learn to seek shalom as we engage in poverty reduction. Video resources created by Christian community development organization Focused Community Strategies will guide our learning.
